- Performing thorough patient assessments, prescribing diagnostic tests, and crafting personalized care strategies
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions alongside physicians or independently (as permitted by your certifications)
- Guiding patients and families on health promotion, preventative measures, and chronic disease self-management
- Prescribing appropriate medications and therapies aligned with your scope of practice
- Engaging in follow-ups and managing chronic care effectively
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care delivery
- Accurately documenting patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in California
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capability to obtain within 90 days)
- A blend of strong clinical judgment and empathetic patient care
- Outstanding communication skills with different stakeholders including patients, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced, patient-centered settings
- Familiarity with electronic medical record platforms and comfort with telehealth services
