Travel RN - Post Partum

Travel RN for Post Partum unit. The unit has 32 operational beds and a total of 59 staff members. Staff includes Charge Nurses, RNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Health Unit Coordinators. Patient ratios are generally 1:3 couplets and may vary based on the mix. The unit uses EMR Meditech and CPN for documentation. There are no on-call requirements, but some floating may be required for overflow and recoveries. Candidates must possess couplet care competencies and breastfeeding support skills to be considered. Preferred qualifications include experience as a Mother Baby Charge Nurse or with late-preterm or transitional newborns. Typical procedures performed include newborn screenings, blood glucose monitoring, jaundice monitoring, perineal and incision care, and feeding support. The ideal candidate is compassionate, team-oriented, detail-focused, and able to work well under pressure. Unit policies include evidence-based practices for patient care, hourly rounding for safety and satisfaction, and bedside shift reports. The team is welcoming with a mix of experience and a positive work environment. Staff enjoy flexible scheduling and the opportunity to pick up extra shifts. This unit provides great exposure to postpartum and newborn skills while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
