Data Center Network Architect

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Network Architect to help design and build the network architecture supporting a growing data center environment in Phoenix.

This individual will be responsible for developing scalable, resilient connectivity solutions across the facility, connecting customers to telecommunications carriers, and designing network solutions that support customer environments throughout the data center.

This is not a purely advisory architecture position. We are looking for someone who understands how networks are designed, deployed, operated, and supported in real-world data center environments and who is comfortable remaining technically close to the work.

The Data Center Network Architect will work closely with networking leadership, carrier management, operations, sales engineering, and customer-facing teams to translate business and customer requirements into reliable network solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design scalable, highly available network architectures supporting data center facilities and customer environments.
• Develop network designs connecting customers to telecommunications carriers and other connectivity providers.
• Architect connectivity for customer deployments located across multiple or non-contiguous footprints within the data center.
• Design internal facility network solutions that support customer, operational, and infrastructure requirements.
• Develop resilient network architectures focused on availability, redundancy, performance, scalability, and operational supportability.
• Translate customer connectivity requirements into practical technical designs and implementation plans.
• Partner closely with carrier management resources to integrate carrier services and connectivity into the overall network architecture.
• Work with telecommunications carriers, network service providers, and other external partners on technical connectivity requirements.
• Support data center interconnection and customer connectivity initiatives.
• Develop network standards, reference architectures, documentation, and design patterns that can be repeated as the environment grows.
• Participate in capacity planning and help anticipate future network requirements based on customer demand and facility growth.
• Evaluate network technologies, platforms, and connectivity approaches as the company's infrastructure evolves.
• Support network implementation, deployment, testing, turn-up, troubleshooting, and operational handoff.
• Partner with network operations teams to ensure architectural designs can be effectively monitored, managed, and supported in production.
• Work closely with sales engineering to help develop technically sound customer solutions aligned with the company's network capabilities and product offerings.
• Participate in customer-facing technical discussions when deeper network architecture expertise is required.
• Help establish the technical foundation and best practices for a growing data center networking organization.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in network architecture, network engineering, or data center networking
• Demonstrated experience designing networks within data center, colocation, telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise and data center routing and switching concepts.
• Experience designing highly available and resilient network environments.
• Experience with customer connectivity, carrier connectivity, or network interconnection.
• Understanding of how carrier services integrate into data center network environments.
• Experience taking network solutions from initial architecture and design through implementation and production support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through complex network and connectivity challenges.
• Ability to translate business and customer requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Experience creating network diagrams, standards, architecture documentation, and implementation plans.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, carriers, vendors, and customer-facing teams.
