Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician installs, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment used in an industrial environment. This role supports production reliability by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing complex equipment issues, and implementing effective repairs and improvements. The technician also programs and maintains automation systems, including PLCs, CNC machines, and robotics, while documenting all work in accordance with established standards.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and systems, including circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, and related components.
• Fabricate and machine components to repair jigs, fixtures, and parts made from metal, plastic, and wood for projects, equipment repairs, maintenance work orders, and machine modifications.
• Write, program, troubleshoot, modify, and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, robotics, and other electronic and automation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical machine components to restore equipment to proper operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment according to established standards and schedules.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, ladder logic, and other technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repairs.
• Maintain accurate written and electronic documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations, standards, and company policies, and actively contribute to a safe work environment.
• Collaborate closely with other maintenance technicians, production staff, and engineering teams to support efficient operations and minimize downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment safety, quality, and productivity, and implement or recommend continuous improvement actions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and test instruments to perform maintenance, fabrication, and repair tasks.
• Support machine modifications and upgrades, including installation and integration of new components, controls, and automation systems.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, including circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, and 3-phase power.
• Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and PLC control systems, including working with ladder logic and automation equipment.
• Experience with PLC programming, including writing, modifying, and debugging programs for industrial applications.
• Strongmechanical maintenance within an industrial environment, including repair and adjustment of mechanical components.
• Demonstrated skills in hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience with industrial maintenance practices, including preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex equipment issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective repairs.
• Ability to document maintenance activities accurately using written and electronic methods.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving safety, quality, and productivity.
• Commitment to working in compliance with safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to support efficient operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with CNC machines, including troubleshooting, programming, and repair.
• Exposure to robotics and other advanced electronic or automation equipment in an industrial setting.
• Machining and fabrication skills, including working with metal, plastic, and wood to create or repair jigs, fixtures, and parts.
• Familiarity with industrial automation systems and controls beyond basic PLCs.
• Comfort using a variety of hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and machining equipment.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and work orders effectively.
• Ability to adapt to different shifts and production demands as required by the operation.

Work Environment

This position is based in an industrial facility that operates on structured shifts to support continuous production. Available schedules include four 10-hour weekday shifts (Monday through Thursday) with options such as 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., as well as extended weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. You will work around production machinery, automation systems, and maintenance tools, performing tasks that involve electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical components, PLCs, CNC equipment, and robotics. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and comfort working in a hands-on, equipment-intensive setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MO.

The pay range for this position is $69000.00 - $91500.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Troy,MO.
