Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Adult Admission Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Adult Admission Unit functioning adjacent to the Emergency Department, managing admitted patients until placement on a progressive care unit
• Monitor, interpret, and manage telemetry and dysrhythmias for a diverse patient population across all specialties excluding ICU-level acuity
• Manage frequent patient turnover, including both incoming admissions from the ED and outgoing transfers to inpatient units, across up to 17 beds and up to 8 hall beds at a 1:4–5 ratio
• Operate and manage a variety of medical equipment while maintaining strong time management across a high-acuity, high-volume environment
• Float as required to areas including the unit adjacent to the ED for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and inpatient PCU areas
• Serve as relief charge nurse as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending RN licensure (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; Emergency Room or high-acuity experience required for this specialty
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and interpret telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
• Must be willing and able to float within scope to meet facility needs across multiple inpatient areas
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience (preferred for ER placement)
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Comfort working in a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, or similarly complex acute care environment
