We are seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the strategy, performance, and lifecycle of our commercial truck fleet as we scale across the United States. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic, analytical professional who can translate rental demand, utilization data, and residual value trends into a fleet plan that drives revenue, protects margin, and positions City Rent A Truck for scalable growth. This position blends fleet strategy, capital planning, vehicle acquisition, titling and compliance, disposition, and team leadership to deliver measurable results in a capital-intensive industry. The Fleet Manager partners closely with the Director of Finance on capital deployment and residual value modeling, leads the Title and Registration team and Fleet Service Coordinator, and reports to the VP of Operations. Responsibilities Fleet Strategy and Capital Planning Develop and maintain the multi-year fleet plan covering vehicle mix, market allocation, age curve, replacement cadence, and capital deployment Partner with the Director of Finance to translate the fleet plan into capital requirements and model financial impact Recommend annual acquisition budget and disposition targets to executive leadership, aligned to utilization targets and the revenue plan Decide what classes and configurations of trucks to add by market based on customer demand, win/loss data, utilization, and competitive positioning Determine optimal hold periods and disposition trigger points by asset class, balancing residual value, maintenance cost, and customer-facing fleet age Evaluate purchase channels (factory order, dealer stock, used acquisition) to optimize total cost of ownership Vehicle Acquisition Assist in the end-to-end acquisition process from spec development through delivery, including OEM relationships with Ford and other manufacturers Negotiate pricing, terms, and allocations with dealers, manufacturers, and upfit partners Coordinate on upfit specifications, timing, and capacity to meet ready-for-rent dates Monitor OEM order banks, build slots, and production timing; elevate constraints early and adjust the plan accordingly Maintain forward-looking visibility into units on order, in transit, in upfit, and ready for rent Title, Registration, and Compliance Lead the Title and Registration team, setting standards for accuracy, turnaround, and compliance across all operating states Own multi-state titling, registration renewal, IRP, IFTA where applicable, and fleet property tax compliance Oversee DOT compliance and vehicle safety/inspection standards across the fleet Build documented processes for new vehicle in-service, market transfers, dispositions, and title perfection for lender collateral Partner with the Director of Finance to report fleet collateral for borrowing base certifications and lender requirements Disposition and Remarketing Build the annual disposition plan by unit, market, and channel; track execution and revise as residual conditions change Manage relationships with auction houses, wholesalers, and remarketing platforms; benchmark channel performance on net proceeds and days-to-sale Work with the remarketing manager on disposition pricing and channel selection above defined thresholds Report actual versus forecast residual values and incorporate learnings into the forward fleet plan Operations and Leadership Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, including the Title and Registration team and Fleet Service Coordinator Establish KPIs for the fleet function including utilization, fleet age, ready-for-rent days, RPO conversion rate, and disposition variance to plan Partner with branch leadership to align the fleet plan with each market's targets Represent fleet in executive meetings and strategic planning sessions Champion CRAT's core values of Customer First, Teamwork, Problem Solvers, and Leave It All on the Field Qualifications 5+ years of progressive experience in fleet management, commercial truck rental, leasing, or asset-heavy operations 3+ years of direct people leadership experience Proven track record of building and executing fleet acquisition and disposition strategy at scale Strong commercial acumen, including total cost of ownership analysis and residual value awareness Working knowledge of OEM ordering systems, particularly Ford fleet ordering platforms Demonstrated experience with multi-state titling, registration, and fleet tax compliance Comfort working in ERP and financial systems; NetSuite or comparable platforms preferred Valid Driver's License with clean driving record Must pass background check and drug screening Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred Preferred Experience in commercial truck upfitting and how upfit specifications drive cost, lead time, and resale value Prior experience in an asset-backed lending or borrowing-base-financed fleet environment Experience deploying AI or automation tools in fleet workflows Strategic and analytical, with the ability to translate data into decisions Decisive and willing to make calls with incomplete information Commercially minded, with instincts for what drives revenue and protects margin Strong leader who builds teams and develops people Tech-forward and willing to challenge the status quo on systems and process Direct communicator who can hold the line in cross-functional debates Schedule & Travel Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required based on workload and project timelines. Occasional travel to other markets may be required to support fleet operations.
