This role sits in our Platform Engineering team, which delivers features and design work that spans the Ping platform. The team is focused on building Ping's identity for AI offerings to secure and govern AI agents.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can turn ideas into production capabilities and work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional, and global team.The ideal applicant will bring strong software development experience, sound technical judgment, creative problem-solving skills, and a passion for research, innovation, and experimentation. They will be excited by work that spans products, services, APIs, models, and user experiences, and by using AI tooling as a practical part of the engineering workflow to accelerate discovery and delivery.This is an opportunity to contribute to features that help customers identify, secure, and govern AI agents.You WillDeliver IAM (Identity & Access Management) capabilities across the Ping platform encompassing the whole stack from infrastructure and databases through to UI experiencesContribute to the design and implementation of APIs, models, workflows, orchestration surfaces, and servicesResearch and prototype solutions in emerging areas, working with senior technical leaders and product teams to turn validated ideas into product featuresWork closely with product management, UX, and engineering teams across Ping to refine features and designs to deliver elegant, usable, and scalable outcomes for customersParticipate in development life cycle activities such as design, coding, testing, rollout, and production supportUse modern AI tooling such as Claude Code as part of day-to-day engineering work to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation while maintaining strong engineering judgmentCommunicate clearly, share knowledge, and support other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and deliveryThrive in a rapidly changing environment, continuously adapting to evolving customer needs, technology trends, and new ways of workingYou HaveAbility to design, build, test, and operate production services using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes, together with the desire to broaden your expertiseAbility to use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation while applying sound engineering judgmentExperience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilitiesExperience designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data or domain modelsExperience turning requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutionsExperience with authentication, authorisation, and identity managementAbility to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate across teams and time zones, and support other engineers through feedback and knowledge sharingBonus Points If You HaveExperience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modellingExperience with AI agent identity and non-human identityFamiliarity with MCP, agent skills, and other agent integration conceptsExperience working across multiple codebases, teams, or product areas to ship cohesive outcomesExperience with distributed systems at scaleExperience working as part of an international teamExperience contributing to technical designs and proof of concept workSalary Range: $110,000-$120,000In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above.
