Skilled Nursing facility located in Erie County New York is looking to hire an Assistant Food Service Director to aid the Food Service Director in overseeing the daily food service operations within our facility. We are seeking a talented candidate that will serve in a role that requires a dynamic supportive employee to assist in the management of a diverse team while ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Ideal candidate will have experience in a skilled nursing facility

Responsibilities

• Assists the Food Service Manage in all aspects of food service operations, including staffing, training, and performance management.

• Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.

• Assists in the overseeing of inventory control processes to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.

• Help in the development and implementation of menus that cater to preferences and dietary requirements of the clients of the facility

• Monitor client’s feedback to continuously improve service quality and dining experience.

• Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.

• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed

• Use protective gear, ensure safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions, and report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly

• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment

• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality, including food service or restaurant management coursework preferred.

• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies

• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods.

• Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.

• Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting.

• May be required to complete an approved sanitation and safety course.
