Job Summary The overall purpose of the Restorative Aide position is to assist in the provision of restorative and/or rehabilitative care to patients as appropriate, and to assist in the provision of regular patient care as may be directed. Qualifications State certification as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language. Essential Functions Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort. Assist in the provision of restorative or rehabilitative care. Performs restorative nursing tasks such as ambulation, range of motion, positioning, self-feeding, etc., within the scope of individuals' training. Promotes and supports the greatest possible degree of independence for patients. Advise Patient Care Coordinator of patient status daily. Contribute knowledge of patient conditions/needs to patient care plans. Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within the parameters of established policy and procedure. Observe and report on patients' conditions and document observations as required. Promote a safe and clean environment. Comply with requirements of procedures for safe lifting and/or safe transfer of patients per established policies and procedures. Assist in care and maintenance of therapy area and equipment. Ensure that equipment is clean and functional. Attend in-service training programs. Attend monthly Quality Assurance Meetings. Be responsible for monthly and weekly weights. Attend weekly rehab meetings. Have the ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model. Have reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and understand employees' responsibility to enforce it. Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems. Be responsible for assuring patient/resident safety. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
