Job Title

Summary: M-F 12A - 8A

Responsibilities

• Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
• Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper function before any patient study.
• Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol.
• Observe all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
• Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
• Receive radiopharmaceuticals on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Requirements

• AHA BLS certification.
• NYS DOH Radiography license with certification to inject.

Preferred Skills

• Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient's needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
