Material Handler (3rd Shift)Location: Lockport, ILPay Rate: $17.00/hour starting with an increase upon hireRegular Shift: 3rd Shift | Monday – Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AMTraining Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (First 2 weeks)Position Type: Temp-to-HireAbout the OpportunityPrideStaff is partnering with a premier plastics and packaging manufacturer in Lockport, IL, seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler for their 3rd shift team.In this role, you will keep production flowing smoothly by maintaining raw material supply to machines, supporting molding/assembly lines, executing color changes, and maintaining inventory organization.Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Management: Keep machine hoppers consistently filled with necessary raw materials to prevent downtime.Production Line Support: Run molding and assembly lines, perform color/material changes, and handle general cell support functions.Inventory Control: Weigh up raw materials/WIP returned to staging, complete transfer tickets, and record resin, colorant, and slip lot numbers.Equipment Maintenance & Housekeeping: Clean dryers, grinders, and blenders after jobs; set up scales; make/close boxes; keep Gaylords covered to prevent contamination.Scrap & Quality Tracking: Log all scrapped parts, purging, and production updates on shift reports.Warehouse Transport: Safely operate a forklift to transfer audited product, assembly items, and quarantined items to their designated areas.Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and other operational tasks as assigned.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in injection molding and raw material inventory control.Equipment Skills: Proven ability to operate a forklift safely.Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.Key Skills: Strong multi-tasking ability, clear communication skills, and a collaborative team attitude.Physical Demands & EnvironmentAbility to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.Comfortable kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the shift.Ability to work comfortably in a non-climate-controlled (non-air-conditioned) manufacturing setting with exposure to heat.Why Work with PrideStaff?At PrideStaff, we connect hard-working professionals with top local employers.
