Travel RN - Telemetry - ER - Hold

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Holds/Tele position requiring strong cardiac telemetry skills and an active AZ or compact RN license. Requirements Active AZ or Compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certification Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Strong cardiac telemetry background preferred, with ability to titrate and decrease cardiac drips per physician orders (Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone) Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently, as no monitor tech is available Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (2 attempts maximum) Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique skills lab on day one of orientation Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility Copy of driver's license required for consideration Responsibilities Work in the ED Holds/Tele unit of an acute care hospital with Level 3 trauma designation Care for ED holds waiting placement on a unit, primarily MS/Tele patients Patient ratio of 1:4 Uses Cerner EMR 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with ability to self-schedule, subject to change 4 weekend shifts required within a 4-week schedule Holiday rotation required alongside permanent staff No call or standby requirement First to float; floats to med/surg/tele/overflow units and other ED units within the health system May assist with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration, but will not serve as primary RN for ED assignments Provide telemetry-focused nursing care to patients awaiting placement from the ED Work under the ED charge nurse with ED PCTs available for support Complete 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at the primary campus Navy scrub color required Failure of the dysrhythmia exam or sterile technique test results in a 6-month do-not-use status within the region Candidates must not have been directly employed by the health system within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility per state residency requirements MS/Tele travelers do not need prior travel nursing experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-763818 Open Positions: 2 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler, LLC.
