About the Role:

Pino's Italian Food Market, Dix Hills is looking for a skilled and passionate Butcher to join our team in Dix Hills, NY. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their craft and is ready to bring quality and expertise to our operation every day. Responsibilities:

• Break down, trim, and prepare primal and sub-primal cuts of beef, pork, poultry, and other meats
• Operate and maintain butchery equipment including band saws, grinders, and slicers
• Package, label, and merchandise meat products for display and sale
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving meat products
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat products following FIFO standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with food safety regulations
• Assist customers with product selection, custom cuts, and special orders

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Butcher or Meat Cutter in a retail, wholesale, or food production environment
• Proficiency with butchery tools and equipment including knives, band saws, and grinders
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts, grades, and preparation techniques
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items (50+ lbs)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
