JOB SUMMARY About the Inpatient Float Pool Team The Inpatient Float Pool at UT Southwestern is a high-impact clinical team supporting safe, flexible staffing across Clements University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. Float Pool RNs and PCTs provide care across more than 30 inpatient units spanning critical care, medical-surgical, oncology, telemetry, progressive care, rehabilitation, and specialty services-offering an unmatched opportunity to work across diverse patient populations and clinical environments. As a strategic clinical resource within hospital-wide nursing operations, the Float Pool plays a vital role in meeting the dynamic needs of both hospitals. In partnership with Central Staffing and nursing leadership, the team brings skilled clinical support where it is needed most, helping units respond to changing patient acuity, census, and staffing needs while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care. Float Pool Level 3 RN : As a Float Pool Level 3 RN, you will provide expert, adaptable nursing care across a diverse range of adult inpatient medical-surgical, telemetry, progressive care, rehabilitation, oncology, and specialty settings. This role is designed for an experienced RN who values clinical variety, embraces change, and thrives in dynamic environments. Preferred Experience 2 years of nursing experience JOB DUTIES Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments. Takes all assessments into consideration age specific criteria. Anticipates patient's and/or patient's family needs and expectations and utilizes these in conjunction with assessment to develop appropriate plan of care for patient. Utilizes critical thinking skills in planning and prioritizing nursing care. Maintains and utilizes competencies per unit expectation. Identifies and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on completed assessment. Completes documentation of interventions. Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care. Confers with all members of health care team in collaborative, fashion, sharing information and observations of patient and/or patient's family in manner that contributes to optimal patient care. Prioritizes nursing interventions based upon completed assessment. Identifies changes in condition as evidenced by nursing assessment, labs, x-rays, etc. Reports changes and takes follow-up action. Evaluates implemented interventions and modifies care according to evaluation. Documents interventions and modifications to plan of care.
