Welder (2nd Shift)

Shift 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday 3:30 pm–12:00 am. 15% differential for 2nd Shift. Responsibilities Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal. Read weld blueprints, engineered drawings, and follow work order requirements. Set up the welding machine for specific materials, thicknesses, and positions. Use complex weld fixtures and positioners (turntables). Dimensionally inspect welds and part characteristics using calipers, protractors, and gauges. Inspect all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Work outside department as required. Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and within standard times. Follow all safety guidelines and wear all personal protective equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, complete all required compliance training, and maintain knowledge of and adherence to the company’s internal compliance policies. Qualifications Certification in GTAW; AWS D17.1; PWA 16 (in any group material). 3–5 years of welding experience. Pass welding certification tests for current materials used in the shop. Read, interpret, and process blueprints and operation sheets. Capable of using all standard bench tools and gauges required for setup, inspection, and welding of assemblies, including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and microscopes. Complete required quarterly process control samples, logs, check sheets, job orders, and other paperwork for each job performed. Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices. Able to successfully multitask in a manufacturing cell work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Equal Opportunity Statement We are an equal opportunity employer.
