Power Plant Mechanic

The Power Plant Mechanic II is an experienced technician responsible for power plant maintenance activities that involve identifying, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical equipment issues. Key Responsibilities Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence. Diagnoses complex mechanical problems, recommends, directs and performs corrective action on mechanical equipment to maximize plant reliability, availability and performance. Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, overhauls and upgrades on mechanical equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime. Uses the SAP system to provide, evaluate and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records to achieve an accurate historical account for future references. Communicates and coordinates with plant operations to maintain efficiency and performance. Provides oversight of contractors for routine and outage maintenance activities. Communicates with supervisors to provide updates on maintenance activities and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; related vocational or technical training preferred. 3‑5+ years of related experience. Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job. Knowledge of leading practices in the mechanical equipment field. Planning and project management skills. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job. Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, and able to present ideas and opinions in a collegial manner. Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements.
