Material Handler

Material HandlerThe Materials Handler is responsible for moving incoming and outgoing freight between delivery vehicles and storage locations within the warehouse using forklifts and pallet jacks. In addition, the role includes maintaining inventory records and checking materials and equipment for flaws and defects to ensure quality and accuracy in the warehouse.Essential Job Functions:Unloading and Transporting (75%)Load and unload delivery vehicles using material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and pallet jacks.Transport palletized or crated goods to and from specified warehouse locations via MHE.Follow the production schedule to ensure proper work priorities are met.Coordinate work activities with co-workers and supervisor to maintain an efficient workflow.Stack products and empty crates in assigned warehouse spaces to maximize storage and minimize damage.Recordkeeping (15%)Maintain accurate records of products received and stored using scanners and manual checklists.Cross-check item quantities received/shipped against shipping orders and notify supervisor of any inconsistencies.Examining (10%)Examine incoming and outgoing materials for damages or quality deficiencies.Report defects to the supervisor in a timely manner.Ensure that work equipment, such as forklifts, is in good condition by performing daily maintenance tasks, such as recharging batteries and lubricating equipment.Competencies:Attention to detailAdaptability and flexibilityStrong spatial orientation and problem-solving skillsStrong driving skills, particularly with forklifts and pallet jacksGood written and oral communication skillsPhysical Demands:Refer to page 3 (if applicable).Equipment Used:Stand-up forkliftElectric pallet jackHandheld scannerTwo-way radioSafety:Follow Daiso USA safety policies and procedures.Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area at all times.Special Conditions of Employment:Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check.Qualifications:Six months of full-time work experience driving a forklift within the last 12 months.Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
