Assembler - 2nd Shift

AssemblerPGS Worldwide is seeking an Assembler in Owego, NY for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role involves performing a variety of production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks. You will work from diagrams and drawings to build, test, and inspect components in a production environment.Required SkillsExperience performing assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical componentsAbility to read and interpret diagrams and technical drawingsExperience using hand tools and/or power toolsAbility to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assembliesExperience conducting quality inspections in accordance with specificationsAbility to disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies as neededAbility to work with both repetitive and non-repetitive tasks in a production settingWhat You'll DoAssemble modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables based on diagrams and drawingsPerform initial layouts and follow detailed assembly instructionsUse hand and power tools to complete assembly tasksConduct continuity checks and ensure functionality of completed workPerform quality inspections according to defined specificationsDisassemble and rework assemblies as needed to meet requirementsSupport testing of experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions
