Job Title High School Assistant Principal Location Hopkinton High School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts Type / Salary Full-time (12‑month work year). Salary $125,000–$130,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Area of Consideration All qualified candidates Fair Labor Standards Act Classification Exempt (Professional) Reporting Structure The Assistant Principal reports to the Principal and supervises/evaluates professional teaching staff. Responsibilities Assist the principal in overall administration and serve as acting principal in their absence. Supervise teachers and departments as assigned by the principal. Supervise the preparation of the master schedule and propose class schedules and extracurricular activities. Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests. Coordinate MCAS testing with the Guidance department. Assist in emergency planning and crisis response. Coordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. Assist in maintaining discipline across the student body and supervise student attendance reporting and monitoring. Coordinate substitute teacher coverage as needed. Engage with parent, faculty, and student groups to advance educational and related activities and objectives. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Principal/Assistant Principal by the Massachusetts Department of Education, including SEI endorsement. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in Education or a related field. Successful administrative experience in an educational setting. Alternate qualifications as determined appropriate by the Superintendent in accordance with state licensure requirements.
