AUTOMOTIVE STUDENT TECHNICIAN

Pay Rate: $19.31/hour

Ideal Candidate: New Graduate

Position Summary

The Automotive Student Technician is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals pursuing a career in the automotive industry. This role provides hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair while working alongside experienced technicians in a professional automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist senior technicians with vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repair activities
Perform basic automotive services, including:
- Oil changes
- Tire rotations
- Battery checks
- Fluid inspections and top-offs
Support diagnostic activities for mechanical and electrical systems under supervision
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Properly use and maintain tools and equipment
Document completed work and communicate findings to supervising technicians
Participate in ongoing training and skill development opportunities

Qualifications

Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle components
Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills
Good communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Valid driver's license required
Must possess a basic automotive toolbox

Work Environment

Stellantis internal fleet diagnostics and repair facility
Hands-on automotive shop environment
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Must adhere to all safety standards and procedures

Preferred Candidate Traits

Recent graduate of an automotive program or technical school
Mechanically inclined with a strong interest in automotive repair
Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn
Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of experienced technicians
