Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Role: Associate Director, Global Financial Crimes Compliance Enterprise Threat Mitigation The Team: The Associate Director, Global Financial Crimes Compliance Enterprise Threat Mitigation will directly report to and work with the Director, Global Financial Crimes Compliance Enterprise Threat Mitigation The Impact: The Associate Director, Global Financial Crimes Compliance Enterprise Threat Mitigation plays a critical role in safeguarding S&P Global by supporting the centralized review, investigation, escalation, and disposition of transaction screening and third-party screening alerts. The role is responsible for helping ensure that potential sanctions, AML, anti-bribery and corruption, and due diligence risks involving clients, vendors, event attendees, and other third parties are identified, assessed, and mitigated through timely, well-documented, and risk-based decision-making. This role requires a combination of sanctions and financial crimes compliance expertise, technical knowledge of screening systems and workflows, strong analytical judgment, and a practical understanding of S&P Global’s businesses. The Associate Director will work closely with Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders across regions to enhance screening effectiveness, improve alert management processes, and support a globally consistent approach to financial crimes risk mitigation. Responsibilities: Serve as a senior point of escalation for transaction screening alerts involving clients, vendors, event attendees, third parties, and other relevant counterparties, applying sanctions, AML, anti-bribery and corruption, and due diligence expertise to resolve complex or high-risk cases. Oversee the review and disposition of screening alerts generated through automated and manual screening processes, ensuring decisions are well-documented, risk-based, and aligned with applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards. Evaluate potential sanctions, AML, PEP, adverse media, and other financial crimes risks identified through transaction and third-party screening activity, including the review of name matches, ownership/control considerations, geographic exposure, and risk indicators. Support the optimization of transaction screening controls, rules, and escalation criteria to improve the effectiveness of alert generation, reduce false positives, and ensure screening logic remains responsive to evolving regulatory expectations and financial crime typologies. Conduct Second Line of Defense reviews of transaction screening frameworks and operating models to identify potential control gaps, process inefficiencies, or areas of compliance vulnerability, and elevate findings as appropriate. Review and enhance policies, procedures, and guidance related to transaction screening and financial crimes compliance to help protect S&P Global and ensure adherence with relevant sanctions, AML, anti-bribery and corruption, and third-party risk requirements. Partner with technology, data, operations, legal, and business stakeholders to support enhancements to screening systems, data quality, workflow design, alert documentation, and case management processes. Monitor emerging sanctions, AML, and financial crimes risks that may impact S&P Global’s products, services, clients, vendors, event attendees, and other third-party relationships, and assess implications for screening practices. Track and analyze transaction screening trends and performance metrics, including alert volumes, escalation patterns, resolution timelines, match quality, and recurring risk themes, to support program oversight and continuous improvement. Deliver targeted training to analysts and relevant stakeholders on transaction screening requirements, escalation standards, sanctions and AML risk indicators, documentation expectations, and complex screening scenarios. Participate in Global Financial Crimes Compliance governance bodies and working groups, providing subject matter expertise on transaction screening risks, control effectiveness, operational challenges, and remediation efforts. Support Second Line of Defense management of audits and regulatory examinations related to transaction screening, including preparation of materials, review of evidence, explanation of screening processes, and support for remediation activities. #J-18808-Ljbffr S&P Global
