Staff iOS Engineer

Particle is a startup based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we’re reimagining the daily news experience. We’re seeing a Staff iOS Engineer to join our team. With our iOS team, you’ll architect, build, and maintain Particle’s native iOS app from prototype to production. In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish with minimal guidance. You'll be joining a small, product-minded team with backgrounds from leading tech companies (Twitter, Tesla, Periscope, GitHub). We value clarity, curiosity, and speed in our work. This position reports directly to Particle's CEO. Key requirements 5+ years of professional native iOS development Expert in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit Significant ownership of shipped apps on App Store Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with prototyping and iteration Self-starter who takes ownership and initiative in project areas Product-oriented mindset and instincts, understanding the importance of delivering excellent user experiences Strong experience with LLMs Nice to have: Experience using LLMs in a production environment Interest or background in news and journalism Competitive salary and equity package Health insurance packages Remote or hybrid welcome.
