About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of continuous MICU experience required License: Active Massachusetts RN License Certifications: AHA BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to read telemetry strips - Experience in ICU with adult patients Description: This position requires working in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU. The unit cares for a diverse population of adult patients with various critical conditions. Diagnoses include substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day. Floating to medical/surgical units is required, with a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated. Telemetry competency is required for the position. The shifts rotate among 7 AM to 7 PM, 11 AM to 11 PM, or 7 PM to 7 AM as needed. Night shift does not rotate. The charting system used is EMR. Candidates must have 2+ years of adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting.
