For over a century, the Simoniz name has been synonymous with quality products that work hard and boast measurable results for overall cleanliness and protection.This position is responsible for setting up, operating and tending to machines to mix and blend chemical raw materials into finished goods.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAdhere to work schedule and be able to report to work on time and work throughout the assigned schedule and shiftAccept direction from shift supervisorMay move materials manually or with forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or other equipmentCompound and process raw materials, scents and dyes according to batch ticketWeigh or measure raw materials prior to putting into mixing tanksDump or pour specified amounts of raw materials into mixing tanks via pumps or manual meansStart machines to mix or blend ingredients and allow them to mix for specified times as per instructionsObserve production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operationStop mixing or blending equipment per instructions on the batch ticket once specified product quantity is obtainedCollect samples of materials or products for laboratory testingRecord production data on specified formsClean and maintain mixing tanks, equipment, and work areaOther duties as assignedPhysical DemandsStand, walk, handle, reach outward and above shoulder, climb and bend frequently and squat occasionallyLift or carry up to 50 pounds, frequentlyPush or pull up to 100 pounds frequentlyBe able to judge distance, color, periphery and depthWork EnvironmentWork in a humid environmentWork near moving mechanical partsExposure to fumes or airborne particlesMay handle caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPEModerate noise level from forklifts and other equipmentRequirementsHigh School Diploma or EquivalentAbility to work effectively and get along with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or job type and with a wide variety of personalities in groups or individuallyComplete required safety training, perform tasks in a safe manner, follow safety policiesWear specified personal protective equipment which may include steel/composite toe work boots, safety glasses, aprons, protective gloves or respirators, hoods, masks, face shields etc. as requiredChange PPE throughout shift as required for processAbility to create and blend batches accuratelyRead batch tickets to determine production specifications and informationPossess basic math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividingAbility to communicate verbally in English in order to give directions or request information from Supervisor or ManagerAbility to write short notes or comments to Supervisor or Manager in EnglishMust be detailed orientedMeet the quantity requirements according to the production scheduleFollow written and verbal directions
