Diesel Master Mechanic - California

A long-standing equipment and truck solutions provider is seeking a Diesel Master Mechanic to join its service team in the Los Angeles area. This role is focused on advanced diagnostics and repair of heavy-duty diesel truck chassis systems, supporting a high-volume shop with a strong backlog of work. This is a hands-on position for a highly skilled technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical and electrical issues and being a go-to expert within the shop. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine systems including fuel systems, turbochargers, and emissions components Perform advanced troubleshooting on transmissions, differentials, and full drivetrain systems Diagnose and repair electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and multiplex networks Complete brake system repairs including ABS, air systems, and related components Repair and rebuild suspension, steering, and air ride systems Lead diagnostics on challenging jobs and provide guidance to other technicians when needed Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards Work closely with service advisors to estimate repairs, timelines, and scope of work Maintain accurate documentation and stay current with evolving diagnostic tools and technologies Occasionally assist with mentoring less experienced technicians For more information on this position or the full job description, please contact Shawn Ramirez at Herk & Associates: 7–10+ years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician Strong expertise in diesel chassis systems including engines, drivetrain, electrical, and braking systems Advanced diagnostic capabilities using OEM software Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation ASE certifications (T-Series) preferred CDL (Class A or B) and manufacturer certifications are a plus Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex repair scenarios Must provide own tools Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Monday–Friday schedule with optional overtime Shop-based role (no field service) supporting a team of approximately 20 technicians Focus on diesel chassis work, with opportunities to assist in other areas based on experience High volume of work with long-term stability and growth potential #J-18808-Ljbffr
