Lead Teacher

The Lead Teacher must be able to implement the plans developed by the curriculum specialist and to impart this knowledge to the children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for the supervision and management of a classroom in accordance with the goals and curriculum plan of the Fairfield Educational Building. Position Objectives Instruct the center's developmentally appropriate curriculum Evaluate the effectiveness of child development activities on a daily basis Supervise and direct staff assigned to assist in the class room Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children Maintain regular communication with parents Contribute to the effective operation of the overall program of the center in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Ohio Department of Education Qualifications The Lead Teacher should have: Degree(s) in one of the following: child development, early childhood education, psychology, music, social work or special education At least one year of experience teaching in a part-day or full-day program A Child Development Associate credential with experience teaching in a part-day or full-day program Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills Credentials that meet state requirements for education and additional center requirements may apply Personal Qualities Values children Physically able to perform the job of lead teacher of children Warm and respectful attitude toward children Reliable Flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program Willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance Self awareness Integrity Unconditional Caring and Laughter Intuitive Supports the goals, objectives and philosophy of the center #J-18808-Ljbffr Fairfield Educational Building
