The Role The Security Associate will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. This position requires vigilance, a high-level of professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to a variety of security-related situations, and ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for everyone at The Kasa Downtown Los Angeles. About the Team This role is in our Portfolio Operations department. Our mission is to ensure our guests have a seamless in-unit experience. Day in the life of a Kasa Security Associate Patrolling & Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of the hotel property, including guest areas, back of house, and exterior perimeters. Monitor CCTV and access control systems to identify any irregular activities or security breaches. Incident Response: Respond promptly to security alerts, disturbances, or requests for assistance. Provide support in managing and resolving security-related incidents. Reporting and Documentation: Accurately document all security incidents and report them to the centralized Trust & Safety team and Security Supervisor or Security Manager on-site. Enforcing Policies & Procedures: Ensure adherence to hotel security policies and procedures by guests and staff. Assist in the enforcement of hotel rules and regulations. Guest Assistance: Guest Experience: Handle guest complaints and concerns regarding security with professionalism and care and elevate these concerns appropriately to the centralized Trust & Safety team and Security Supervisor or Security Manager on-site. Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response procedures including evacuations, medical emergencies. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other hotel team members, security personnel, and our centralized Trust & Safety team to ensure a safe environment. Experience Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and law enforcement agencies. Knowledge and demonstrated ability to use de-escalation techniques effectively in various situations, ensuring the safety and security of all hotel guests and staff. Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be willing to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You're comfortable lifting objects up to 25-50 pounds and standing or walking for up to 8 hours a day. Certified in CPR and First Aid, or ability to acquire certifications within 90 days of hire. Compliant with California Guard Card license, or ability to acquire licensing within 90 days of hire. You've worked in the hospitality industry at some point in your career. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with consistent change. Experience working with other in house departments and providing support if needed. In one year, you will succeed at Kasa by having: Become an integral and trusted component of the Trust & Safety team that helps lead incident response at Kasa. Informed the development of new operating procedures and processes within Trust & Safety. Multiplied impact by helping to contribute to a Safety first culture within Guest Experience. The Pay: The starting base pay for this role is $25 an d is set based on multiple considerations including business needs, market demands, talent availability, experience, and unique skills and attributes. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, bonus, perks, benefits, and Kasa Travel Credits. Paid Time Off: Full-time hourly Kasa employees accrue paid time off at a generous rate that increases with tenure.
