Join us.Position Title: Sr. Embedded Software EngineerLocation: Irvine CAWork Arrangement: HybridPosition Summary: We are looking for a motivated and skilled Embedded Software Engineer team member who will be responsible for working with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers developing and maturing our rapidly growing family of counter drone technologies. This role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining firmware and low-level software for embedded systems. This role will work in a software development and manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.Required Skills/Qualifications:Excellent written and oral communication skillsAdaptable, eager to learn, and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvementAbility to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products5-7 years relevant experience working with embedded SoftwareUnderstanding of embedded system architecturesExperience with Jira, and Git and continuous integration toolsProficient with C/C++, Python, and firmware build and debug toolsPreferred Skills/Qualifications:Understanding of serial data protocols (RS-232/485/422, I2C, SPI, CAN)Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (JTAG/SWD debuggers)Understanding of automated build environments along with automated test and deploymentComfortable using standard lab tools and equipment such as measurement instruments, diagnostic tools, and basic assembly equipment; e.g. oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc...Experience with embedded Linux (device trees, kernel modules, build systems like Yocto)Use of application Containers (Docker, rkt, podman)Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent time and experience in industry.Travel Required: NoneWorking Conditions: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.Salary: $125,000 - $166,000 annually Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
