Systems Engineer - Autonomy & Fault Management (spacecraft)

We're seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of spacecraft autonomy and fault management architectures for advanced satellite and constellation programs. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring mission success, spacecraft health, and operational resilience throughout the mission lifecycle. What You’ll Do: Serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for autonomy and fault management activities. Lead development, verification, and validation of spacecraft autonomy and fault management requirements. Define spacecraft operational modes, states, transitions, and autonomous behaviors. Develop Fault Detection, Isolation, and Response (FDIR) architectures and fault‑tolerant designs. Support mission CONOPS, architecture studies, trade analyses, and mission operations. Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical execution efforts. Participate in spacecraft testing, anomaly resolution, and on‑orbit mission support. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related technical field. 5+ years of spacecraft, satellite, mission operations, or aerospace systems engineering experience. Experience with FDIR design, spacecraft autonomy, and mission operations. Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system‑level spacecraft analysis. Preferred Experience: 9+ years supporting satellite design, development, or operations. Mission CONOPS development and autonomy requirements derivation. Technical leadership and architecture ownership experience. Spacecraft testing, mission readiness, and on‑orbit operations expertise. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
