History and Political Science Assessment Author for AI Research

Develop rigorous academic assessment content that helps advance AI research across history and political science. In this remote, asynchronous role, you will either create original multiple-choice benchmarks or verify existing items for scholarly accuracy, clarity, and rigor. Role Overview

You will support work in National Security, Public Policy, Business History, Environmental History, and Latin American History. Assignments fall into one of two areas: question authoring or question verification.

• Author original, challenging history and political science multiple-choice questions that assess deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall.
• Ensure every question is unambiguous, self-contained, precisely defined, and includes all information needed to solve it.
• Assign a difficulty level to each question: Medium, introductory undergraduate; Hard, advanced undergraduate; or Expert, postgraduate and above.
• Provide one correct answer and nine plausible, subtly incorrect alternatives designed to challenge expert-level solvers.
• Write clear, concise, step-by-step reasoning for solutions in Markdown format.
• Include one to five academic references for each question from reputable sources, such as peer-reviewed journals and university repositories.
• For verification assignments, review pre-written questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, completeness, precision, and solvability; edit as needed and document and justify all changes.
• For authoring assignments, create questions within your area of expertise, rate their difficulty, and submit them for review.

• PhD or doctoral candidacy in History, Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related field.
• A master''s degree may be considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain.
• Strong command of historiographical methods, political theory, and comparative analysis.
• Research publications or policy experience is a strong plus.
• Excellent written English and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

• Fully remote, asynchronous hourly engagement.
• Expected commitment of at least 10 hours per week.

$44 to $56 per hour.
