Driver Helper

Location: Rapid City, SD Onsite Duration: Approx. 6 months Pay Rate: $22.00/hour Schedule: Monday Friday, 5:00 AM 3:00 PM | Overtime on Saturdays as needed

Job Summary

Seeking a Driver Helper to support delivery operations by assisting drivers with unloading, verifying, and delivering food products to customer locations including restaurants, schools, and hospitals. This role requires strong attention to safety, accuracy, and customer service in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

Assist drivers with unloading products and transporting deliveries using hand trucks, dollies, and delivery equipment
Verify delivery accuracy and inspect product quality with customers
Rotate products and organize delivery areas as needed
Provide professional customer service and escalate delivery issues when necessary
Secure products during transport to prevent damage
Support safe delivery practices and pre-trip procedures
Count and verify inventory, complete paperwork, and report shortages or missing items

Required Skills

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 90 lbs
Ability to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb in and out of delivery trucks throughout the shift
Basic math and inventory counting skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

Experience using two-wheel dollies or electric pallet jacks
High school diploma or GED preferred
