Must-Have: Experience with LINAC equipment, Familiarity with patient care in the treatment room

Description: Operate the LINAC equipment to deliver the prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients. Assist in the use and fabrication of positioning or restraining devices. Accomplish patient set-ups, portal adjustments, and interpret prescriptions. Assist in tumor localization and dosimetry procedures. Perform CT clinical simulation procedures. Maintain close observation/supervision of patients in the treatment room. Work with physicians and personnel to organize simulation schedules to ensure no delays occur. Participate in the training of radiation therapy students. Capture patient charges accurately. Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services. Maintain a demeanor that is complementary to medical ethics. Apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful treatment completion. Maintain and practice radiation safety using ALARA principles.
