Job Summary The Client Stabilization Specialist works at shelter or temporary lodging sites, ensuring individuals and families experiencing homelessness are stabilized. Responsibilities include conducting intakes into HMIS, providing education on rules and responsibilities, facilitating orientation, performing face‑to‑face visits, perimeter walks, and escalating issues that impact stabilization. The specialist communicates with leadership, Client Care Coordinators, and service providers to address violations and coordinate services. They perform data entry, including violations, end‑of‑shift notes, and room checks, and identify the need for housing prioritization assessments. Responsibilities Conduct intakes into HMIS and provide education on shelter rules and responsibilities. Facilitate orientation and conduct face‑to‑face visits and perimeter walks. Escalate issues affecting stabilization of individuals or families. Communicate with leadership and Client Care Coordinators regarding program violations. Coordinate services for individuals with complex substance use, mental health, housing, and medical needs. Complete data entry for violations, end‑of‑shift notes, and room checks. Identify and complete housing prioritization assessments for all individuals. Skills & Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of six months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders. 1–3 years of full‑time health care related work experience in behavioral and medical crisis settings preferred. Valid identification required. Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification under A.A.C. R9-10-101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies preferred but not required.
