Travel Diesel Technician/Mechanic Pay $36.00 - $43.00/hour (based on experience) Pay Frequency Weekly pay - every Friday Shift Monday - Friday (Flexible with some weekend travel required) Travel: 100% travel involved. Why Technicians Choose Amerit Weekly Pay – reliable paycheck every Friday Benefits start fast – medical, dental, vision within 30 days 401(k) match – plan for your future Paid time off – vacation, holidays, and sick time Boot allowance & safety gear reimbursement Training through Amerit University ASE certification reimbursement & bonuses Employee referral bonuses (up to $500) Career advancement opportunities nationwide What You'll Do Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards Accurately document repairs and complete work orders Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance Follow all safety procedures and company policies Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations Non-travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects Work closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers Perform other duties as required Up to 100% travel time What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands‑on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs 5+ years of experience performing maintenance on heavy duty tractors and trailers Experience with aftertreatment, A/C repair, and electrical diagnostics Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle for assessment Ability to own and maintain necessary tools and toolbox Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, stooping, crawling, etc.) Ability to enter and exit the driver’s compartment or behind cab using usual footholds and handholds Ability to pass a DOT physical if required Valid driver’s license Ability to perform DOT inspections Working Conditions This role involves working in a mobile and/or shop environment that may include exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical irritants such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to lift heavy objects, access tight spaces, and bend, stoop, crouch, or crawl as needed.
