Pharmacy Associate

Scope of Responsibilities: The Pharmacy Associate works under direct supervision to support prescription processing, assist with member communication, order fulfillment, and shipping activities. Responsibilities include working within the pharmacy platforms to input accurate patient and prescriber information, working through medication supply concerns with Central Fill, process refill requests, preparing prescription packages for shipment, and supporting other areas of the pharmacy as needed.Job Summary: A Pharmacy Associate assists with the processing and fulfilling of prescriptions accurately and on time. Manage work queues for member notifications, verify member and prescriber information, resolve dispensing issues, prepare shipments, meet productivity standards, and support daily pharmacy operations.Job Duties:Monitor and manage outbound member-notification queues; contact members to resolve payment concerns, verify shipping addresses, confirm allergies and other required information, communicate prior authorization delays, document call outcomes, and route unresolved issues to the appropriate team.Assist with product-dispensing work by reviewing rejected transactions with supply concerns, identifying preferred NDCs, and filling prescriptions in accordance with established procedures.Support order fulfillment and shipping with both in-house and central fill orders. This includes preparing secure and accurate packages, selecting the approved courier, applying required labels, and inserting proper documents into the packages.Process prescription refill requests from the Contact Manager queue by reviewing request details, confirming member and prescription information, updating prescriber records accurately and notifying members when needed.Work assigned items in the Inbound queue by reviewing incoming prescription information, searching for existing records, creating accurate patient or prescriber profiles when needed, and preventing duplicate or incomplete records.Meet productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations established by the supervisor; organize assigned work by priority, complete queue items within required timeframes, and promptly report barriers that may affect service or turnaround times.Complete all required onboarding, operational, compliance, and regulatory training by assigned deadlinesProvide daily support across pharmacy operations as assigned, including assisting other work queues or departments during changing volume needs.Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programsPerform other duties as assignedJob Skill Requirements:Strong communication skillsExcellent organization skillsOutstanding customer service skillsGeneral knowledge of medications and physician ordersAbility to multi-task and prioritizeEducational Requirements:Minimum: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: AS Degree or Higher in Business Administration or related fieldExperience:Preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
