Interventional Radiologist PhysicianThe Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a qualified Interventional Radiologist Physician within the Imaging Service. The incumbent works independently within the service and reports to the service chief. Duties include but are not limited to the following:Primary responsibilities will include supervising teaching of the Radiology Resident Physicians. Perform standard IR procedures including drainage, biopsies, vascular access, and locoregional treatment for malignancy. Broad embolization experience will be helpful as will experience in advanced pain management techniques. Neuro vascular training will be highly valued. Greater than 50% of work assignments will be in Interventional Radiology.Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the brain, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate. Primary responsibilities will include supervising teaching of the Radiology Resident Physicians.Accesses studies for interpretation through the CAVHS Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and reports findings electronically through the CAVHS voice-recognition dictation software.Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilitiesFunctions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians.Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc.Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail. Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer SystemWork Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
