Compensation: $100,000 to $140,000 plus year-end bonus and profit sharing
Schedule: 1st Shift

About the Role
A well-established, precision machining operation is looking for a hands-on Plant Manager to take ownership of shop floor operations across a team of approximately 60 employees on three shifts. This is a newly created role designed to bring dedicated production leadership to a busy, long-tenured shop that has been running on experience and tribal knowledge for decades. The right person will earn the trust of a seasoned team, bring structure and efficiency to daily operations, and help build the organizational foundation the company needs to grow.
This is not a role for someone who manages from a desk. You will be on the floor, working alongside operators, leads, and department heads across 4 departments. The company has a collaborative culture where new ideas are welcomed

This is a privately owned machining operation with a deeply experienced team, more than half of whom have been with the company for 15 or more years. Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day shop floor operations including job staging, tooling, setup, inventory, and workflow efficiency across all three shifts
• Oversee and develop operators and department leads across 4 CNC departments
• Train and develop operators; build documentation and process structure around tribal knowledge currently held by long-tenured staff
• Drive shop floor efficiency and identify opportunities to implement systems, processes, and floor management tools
• Collaborate closely with the scheduling function to align floor capacity with job routing requirements
• Ensure quality standards are maintained in alignment with ISO requirements including on-time delivery and customer return metrics
• Work cross-functionally with department heads and ownership to align operations with business goals
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement on the floor

Requirements

• BS/BA or an equivalent of 10+ years of CNC machining, grinding or very similar manufacturing leadership experience is required
• Strong understanding of machining required with the understanding of tight tolerances
• 3-10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience required; candidates with 3+ years and strong personality, drive, and machining knowledge will be considered
• Experience in a similarly sized job shop or custom machining environment is preferred; candidates who have helped build organizational structure and SOPs at a growing shop is a plus
• Bi-lingual English / Spanish or Polish speaking is a plus
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to earn buy-in from long-tenured, highly skilled employees
• Experience implementing or maintaining shop floor systems, documentation, or process improvement initiatives is valued
