Payroll Clerk

The Opportunity

As a Payroll Clerk at Daniels Long Chevrolet, you’ll keep pay and related records accurate, timely, and compliant—supporting employees and leadership with dependable payroll administration. You will compile payroll inputs (hours, commissions/bonuses, withholdings, and benefit contributions), maintain and verify payroll master data, calculate wages and deductions, and prepare/issue paychecks. You’ll also track leave and other nontaxable pay, produce periodic earnings/tax/deduction reports. Additional duties include resolving payroll questions with professionalism and respect.

Required Qualifications/skills

• 2–4 years of related payroll experience (or equivalent education/experience)
• Clear written and verbal communication for one-on-one and small-group settings
• Strong math skills (percentages, commissions, proportions, etc.) and careful attention to detail
• Sound judgment and common-sense problem solving

Your Typical Day

You’ll start by organizing incoming payroll information and checking that everything ties out before deadlines. Throughout the day, you’ll move between focused desk work and quick conversations—answering employee questions, clarifying details with managers, and keeping documentation tidy and up to date. You’ll set aside time to prepare routine payroll and compliance documents, then wrap up by double-checking totals, filing records, and making sure your workspace stays clean and professional. Some days are steady and predictable; others require calm prioritization when last-minute changes come in—your goal is to keep the process smooth for everyone.

Salary: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
