About the Position

The Registered Nurse – Operating Room (RN OR) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role includes assessing patient needs, preparing the operating room, ensuring proper sterile techniques, assisting surgeons and anesthesia teams, and monitoring patients throughout surgery. The RN OR collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain patient safety, manage surgical equipment and supplies, and ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and evidence-based practices.

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license

• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required

• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) – preferred

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – preferred

• Strong knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques

• Experience assisting with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
