Radiologic Technologist I

Job Description Perform medical exams using X-rays on patients to create images of specific parts of the body. The images are then interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. 0‑2 years of experience. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors/outdoors, and from elevated areas. Capacity to work in confined/cramped spaces, kneel, bend, twist, squat, and maneuver with hands and fingers. Ability to reach overhead, perform repetitive hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder motions, and use lower extremities for balance. Capability to lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted and to lift or lower objects up to 50 lbs from the floor to 36 inches or overhead 25 lbs. Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected) in one or both eyes; ability to see and recognize objects at close and far distances; good depth perception, color discrimination, side vision, and hearing acuity. Maintain tactile sensory functions; maintain good olfactory sensation in selected positions; be qualified physically for respirator use when required. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex‑safe environment. Ability to manage stressful situations. Work Environment Employee, Regular, 40 scheduled weekly hours, hourly pay, in the Radiology Department at the Medical University Hospital Authority.
