Jamestown is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to lead marketing, programming and placemaking initiatives for Navy Yard Charleston and the Charleston Design District. This role is ideal for a creative, highly organized marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with a willingness to be hands-on across events, partnerships, content, social media and community engagement.

The Senior Marketing Manager will help shape how Navy Yard Charleston is experienced, understood and positioned locally, regionally and nationally. The role will lead initiatives that strengthen the property brand, support leasing, engage tenants and partners, drive visitation and establish the Navy Yard as an important destination for design, creativity, culture and commerce.

From developing major events and industry partnerships to directing campaigns, creating content and building relationships across Charleston, this person will have a visible role in shaping the next chapter of the project.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead property level Creative & Marketing strategy and execution for Navy Yard Charleston and the Charleston Design District.
• Serve as the primary marketing liaison across Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing, Development, Construction Management and Jamestown's broader Creative & Marketing team.
• Develop annual marketing strategies, plans and budgets in partnership with the Vice President, with clear objectives tied to leasing, visitation, tenant engagement, brand awareness and placemaking.
• Manage marketing budgets, monthly forecasting and measurement of ROI and KPIs.
• Provide creative leadership across campaigns, advertising, events, signage, collateral, digital platforms and property experiences.
• Concept, develop and execute signature events, activations and programming that establish Navy Yard Charleston as a destination and support broader business objectives.
• Lead programming and industry engagement for the Charleston Design District, including partnerships with designers, showrooms, editors, makers, cultural organizations and national design voices.
• Build and maintain relationships across Charleston's design, architecture, hospitality, culinary, arts, retail, real estate and cultural communities.
• Develop strategic partnerships that expand the project's reach and create meaningful connections to the Charleston community.
• Support initiatives associated with Jamestown's Design Practice and broader design center portfolio.
• Lead tourism and visitor engagement initiatives, including local, regional and national opportunities.
• Direct the development of digital and print collateral, including copywriting, creative briefs and basic wireframing.
• Manage external partners including PR agencies, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, event producers and other creative vendors.
• Uphold Jamestown creative standards across visual merchandising, signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics and advertising.
• Develop compelling property tours, presentations and experiences for prospective tenants, partners, media and other key audiences.
• Partner closely with Leasing on presentations, collateral, prospect engagement, events and experiential initiatives that support business development.

Social Media and Content

• Lead the content strategy and day to day management of Navy Yard Charleston and Charleston Design District social media and digital channels.
• Develop an editorial calendar that reflects property priorities, events, tenants, design, culture and the broader Charleston community.
• Create, capture and edit photo and video content for real time and scheduled use.
• Grow audiences and engagement across Instagram, LinkedIn, email and other relevant platforms.
• Oversee email marketing and newsletter strategy, content development and distribution.
• Track social, email, website and campaign performance and regularly report on key metrics and opportunities.

Leadership and Administration

• Take ownership of Creative & Marketing initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring projects are delivered thoughtfully, accurately and on time.
• Establish clear project plans, timelines and communication across internal teams and external partners.
• Identify new opportunities for programming, partnerships, sponsorships and brand visibility.
• Stay current on developments in design, hospitality, placemaking, retail, real estate, culture and experiential marketing.
• Lead special projects and research related to placemaking, destination marketing, design trends, leasing support, community engagement and industry partnerships.

Qualifications

Experience

• 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing, branding, events, partnerships, placemaking, social media or creative project management.
• Demonstrated experience leading multifaceted marketing initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Experience working in real estate, hospitality, design, retail, cultural institutions, destination marketing or similarly experience driven environments strongly preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered.

Knowledge of

• Brand strategy, traditional and digital marketing, public relations, social media and content development.
• Event strategy, experiential marketing and partnership development.
• Mixed use, office, hospitality, retail and commercial real estate environments.
• Placemaking, destination marketing, community engagement and experiential design.
• The relationship between marketing, leasing, property operations and development.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong creative point of view with the ability to translate ideas into polished, executable programs.

• Strong relationship builder with tenants, designers, community partners, brokers, media, vendors and industry stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Canva, Instagram, LinkedIn, WordPress and Google Workspace.
• Experience capturing and editing photography and video for digital and social channels.
• Ability to adapt quickly as priorities evolve.

Bonus Skills:

• Familiarity with project management platforms (Wrike or similar).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of Boston's design, architecture, hospitality, and cultural communities.
