Your Impact

• Safeguard quality by applying PT, MT, RT (X-ray), UT, and VT to complex parts, weldments, and assemblies.
• Translate blueprints and engineering specifications into precise inspection plans and acceptance decisions.
• Accelerate production flow by responding rapidly to operator, team, and management needs.
• Drive continuous improvement by removing waste and stabilizing processes with actionable feedback to engineering.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform NDT evaluations and compare results to applicable specifications for acceptability.
• Conduct first run/first article inspections and dimensional checks (length, height, distance, angles) using precision instruments.
• Verify previous-operation signoffs; reconcile traveler quantities with physical counts; confirm no handling damage during movement.
• Record variable data on “as-built” drawings and inspection reports as applicable.
• Write clear test reports and produce charts to visualize trends and outcomes.
• Monitor and execute calibrations for NDT equipment, facilities, and inspection instruments.
• Examine nonconforming parts to determine root cause and recommend process modifications.
• Oversee welder certifications and weld procedure qualification testing for WPS compliance.
• Lead internal audits to the GTC Quality Manual, ISO, and customer standards.
• Meet or exceed work standards; proactively seek additional tasks to maintain productivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (required).
• Formal classroom training and experience hours sufficient to qualify in at least two NDT disciplines; classroom training aligned with your certification level.
• SPC data collection and evaluation training.
• Chemical handling and radiography safety training.
• 3+ years as a certified NDT Technician in two or more methods.
• 3+ years’ experience in metal joining/welding environments.
• Two or more nationally recognized competency levels (e.g., ASNT, AWS).
• Proven problem-solving and effective course-of-action planning.
• Annual eye exams meeting Jaeger 1 at 12" (with corrective lenses) and Ishihara Color Blindness Test.
