Maintenance Mechanic

This role focuses on performing mechanical maintenance on production machinery and building, repairing, and troubleshooting dies and tooling. You will work from blueprints to construct new dies, reproduce broken components, and operate manual machines independently to support efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.

• Perform mechanical maintenance on production machines to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Construct new dies from blueprint to completion, following specifications and quality standards.
• Reproduce broken or worn die details without assistance, ensuring accurate fit and function.
• Troubleshoot all dies independently to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
• Operate all manual machines, such as lathes and other machining equipment, without supervision.
• Repair and maintain tools and tooling used in metal manufacturing processes.
• Carry out die repair activities, including disassembly, inspection, machining, and reassembly.
• Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to plan and execute machining and assembly work.
• Maintain and use a moderate set of personal tools necessary to perform daily tasks effectively.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve die performance.
• Follow TS/ISO-related procedures and quality standards where applicable.
• Operate cranes and forklifts safely when certified, to move dies, tooling, and materials.
• Apply welding skills as needed to support die and tool repair.
• Adhere to safety protocols and housekeeping standards in a hot, dirty metal manufacturing environment.

• 3–5 years of experience working with tooling and machinery (preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Proficiency in machining operations and operating manual machines such as lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Experience with tool repair, tool and die work, and die repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical principles related to machinery.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems and dies.
• Mechanically inclined with strong math skills to support precise measurements and machining.
• Ownership and effective use of a moderate number of personal tools required for the role.

• TS/ISO certification experience or familiarity is a plus.
• Crane certification is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
• Welding experience and skills are beneficial.
• Experience in metal manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

The role is based in a metal manufacturing facility where conditions can be hot and dirty due to the nature of the processes and equipment. You will work around heavy machinery, dies, and tooling, using manual machines such as lathes and other machining equipment, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of cranes and forklifts when certified, and appropriate protective footwear supported by a boot allowance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norcross, GA.

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
