Position Overview

Individual and Family Connection (IFC) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Clinical Intern to join our team. This internship provides hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a supportive, collaborative clinical environment.

Interns at IFC are not just observing—they are actively developing as clinicians through direct client work, supervision, and real-world application of therapeutic skills.

What You’ll Gain

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and families (under supervision)
• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with client needs
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Participate in supervision, team meetings, and case consultation
• Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other providers as appropriate
• Support ethical and thoughtful client transitions when needed

Ideal Candidate

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
• Eligible to begin or currently completing clinical internship/practicum hours
• Passion for working with children and families
• Strong interpersonal skills and openness to feedback
• Commitment to ethical practice and professional growth

Additional Details

• Location: In-person (Chicago/River Forest area) with telehealth opportunities
• Schedule: Flexible based on academic requirements and site needs
  • One weekend shift is required
• Supervision: Provided by licensed clinicians in accordance with state requirements
