RN Med-Surg Ortho

Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care to provide skilled nursing, patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning in a 4 West Med-Surg Orthopedic unit. The nurse will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment during night shifts. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and families.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Respond to patient emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years of hospital experience, preferably in Medical/Surgical nursing.
• Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
• Driver's license, car insurance, and reliable automobile for any fieldwork.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in orthopedic or surgical units.
• Advanced certifications related to medical-surgical nursing.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Special Considerations:

• Night shift work from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 1:5.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment with orthopedic patients.

Scheduling:

• 12-hour night shifts, typically from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Shift assignments based on unit staffing needs.
