SVP, Global Head of Operations [Remote]

About the Job

zerohash is looking for a SVP, Global Head of Operations to lead and unify the teams that keep the platform running around the clock: Settlement & Trading Operations, Custody Operations, Financial Operations (FinOps), Liquidity & Exchange Services, Technical Support Engineering (TSE), and Client Experience (CX). 

This is a high-visibility, senior role reporting into executive leadership and working in close partnership with Compliance, Engineering, Product, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure zerohash's operational infrastructure is accurate, secure, resilient, and built to scale globally. You'll manage and scale durable, well-run teams and processes across each function, set the standard for operational excellence at zerohash, and regularly present performance, risk, and scaling plans to the executive team.

Candidates must be located within a 1-hour commute of our NYC office hub. 

Leadership Responsibilities

Financial Operations (FinOps)

• Lead Financial Operations across the platform, including reconciliation, ledger accuracy, fee and revenue operations, and client/partner financial reporting.
• Build and scale controls that ensure the integrity of financial data flowing between trading, payments, custody, and settlement systems.
• Partner closely with Finance/Accounting on month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, and regulatory financial reporting requirements.
• Drive process automation and tooling investment to reduce manual reconciliation and operational risk as the company scales.

Settlement & Trading Operations

• Own end-to-end oversight of trade execution (CLOB and RFQ) and settlement across all supported digital assets and fiat rails, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and resilience at scale.
• Set the standards and controls for trade and transaction lifecycle management, including exception handling, break resolution, and settlement risk monitoring.
• Partner with Engineering and Product to strengthen system reliability and automation across trading and settlement workflows.
• Maintain strong relationships with liquidity providers, exchanges, and banking/settlement partners to ensure operational continuity.

Custody Operations

• Oversee digital asset custody operations, including wallet management, key ceremony protocols, and asset movement controls, in partnership with Engineering, Security, and Compliance.
• Own the operating rigor behind asset safety including segregation of duties, dual controls, reconciliation, and audit readiness across the end-to-end custody and wallet infrastructure.
• Evaluate and manage relationships with sub-custodians and custody technology partners as the platform and asset coverage expand.
• Ensure custody processes meet the standards required across zerohash's regulatory footprint, audits (internal and external), and examinations.

Liquidity & Exchange Services

• Oversee Liquidity strategy & execution; maintain deep global liquidity across both the CLOB and RFQ, including identifying key trading pairs, developing incentive structures, and scaling liquidity services globally.
• Help build and maintain strong relationships with high-volume liquidity partners and market makers, negotiating terms and ensuring they actively contribute to liquidity across various trading pairs, venues, and jurisdictions.
• Liquidity Services Operations: Lead the operational setup and enhancements of liquidity strategy globally, including settlement optimization across venues and jurisdictions.
• Stablecoin Issuer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with leading stablecoin issuers, and develop deep markets for zerohash-issued stablecoins and/or tokenized assets, including end-to-end relationships with distribution partners.

Technical Support Engineering (TSE)

• Own the function responsible for triaging, investigating, and resolving trade and settlement escalations from Platform partners and internal stakeholders.
• Build clear escalation paths, SLAs, and root-cause processes so issues are resolved quickly and systemic risks are surfaced to leadership.
• Partner with Engineering and Product on issue trends to drive permanent fixes rather than repeated manual workarounds.

Client Experience (CX)

• Own the end-user support function, ensuring zerohash's B2B2C customers receive fast, accurate, and consistent support.
• Define CX quality standards, staffing models, and escalation tiers appropriate for a regulated financial infrastructure provider operating at scale.
• Use CX data and feedback loops to inform product, operations, and process improvements across the broader Operations organization.
• Implement new tooling to ensure the CX function scales efficiently with customer growth.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of progressive experience in operations leadership within financial services, brokerage, banking, payments, or digital asset infrastructure, including 5+ years in a senior/executive operations role.
• Direct experience leading settlement, trading operations, or custody operations at a regulated financial institution, broker-dealer, exchange, or digital asset platform is required.
• Prior direct professional experience with digital assets (crypto, stablecoins, tokenized assets, etc.) is required.
• Experience overseeing financial operations/reconciliation functions and client-facing support or trade support functions, ideally within one unified organization.
• A track record of building and scaling operations functions and teams.
• Deep understanding of digital asset settlement, custody, and market infrastructure; direct crypto/digital asset experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfort operating in a regulated, compliance-first environment. 
• Strong analytical and risk-management instincts, paired with genuine comfort in ambiguity and fast-scaling environments.
• Excellent executive communication skills, with experience presenting to C-suite and board-level audiences.
• Based in or able to relocate to the New York, NY area; ability to travel to other zerohash hubs (Chicago/Amsterdam) as needed.
