Job Title: Assembler – 2nd Shift Job Description

The Assembler – 2nd Shift performs electro-mechanical and cleanroom device assembly and packaging in a regulated medical device environment. This role relies on strong manual assembly skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team on the second shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical assembly and cleanroom device assembly and packaging in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Support company goals and objectives by following policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable medical device quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), departmental procedures (DOPs), quality assurance programs, and all safety and environmental standards.
• Read and interpret manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and inspection procedures written in English, and follow all requirements accurately.
• Use basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices to assemble, inspect, and verify components and finished products.
• Operate electrical and mechanical equipment, interpret results, and adjust work as needed to meet product specifications and quality requirements.
• Monitor personal work output to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and consistent quality, and promptly identify and report issues related to tooling, materials, processes, or product quality.
• Practice and promote safe work habits at all times, including proper use of equipment, tools, and personal protective measures in cleanroom and production areas.
• Work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity, quality, and adherence to schedules and deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in a cross-functional team environment, building and maintaining professional working relationships with staff, clients, and suppliers.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form, and demonstrate active listening skills to ensure understanding of instructions and feedback.
• Learn new equipment, tools, and processes quickly and demonstrate proficiency in their operation to support production needs.
• Use a computer and various software programs to transact product within the production system, complete online training, and document work as required.
• Participate in cross-training across multiple departments, including packaging, production, and cleanroom operations, and perform repetitive tasks with consistency and focus.
• Adhere to shift schedules and production timelines, including working the designated second shift hours from Monday through Thursday.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of medical device assembly experience.
• Diploma or equivalent level of education.
• Demonstrated manual hand assembly skills in a production or cleanroom environment.
• Ability to use basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other measurement and assembly tools.
• Ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment and accurately interpret results.
• Experience working in cleanroom, production, or mechanical assembly environments.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and the ability to detect issues with tooling, materials, processes, and product quality.
• Ability to read, interpret, and learn engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures, processes, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Proficiency using a computer and various programs to transact product within a production system and complete online training.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to demonstrate active listening.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a cross-functional team environment.
• Commitment to following Good Manufacturing Practices, medical device quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and maintain consistent output.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with microscope use for inspection or assembly in a medical device or precision manufacturing environment.
• Background in cleanroom operations, including adherence to cleanroom protocols and contamination control practices.
• Familiarity with packaging processes for medical devices or other regulated products.
• Comfort working with production hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new equipment, tools, and processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
• Demonstrated reliability in meeting schedules, deadlines, and production targets.
• Experience working under documented quality systems, including SOPs and DOPs, in a regulated environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cleanroom and production environment with a mix of sitting and standing throughout the shift. The position is on the second shift, working Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. You will work with electro-mechanical equipment, hand tools such as micrometers and calipers, and computer systems used to transact product and complete online training. The work involves repetitive tasks that require consistent focus, precision, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, safety protocols, and medical device quality standards. You will be cross-trained in multiple departments, including packaging, production, and cleanroom operations, with approximately two weeks of training in each area to support flexibility and coverage across the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
