Job Description Summary Performs ultrasound procedures at the entry level requiring knowledge of anatomical positioning and physiology. Must be able to perform high‑quality ultrasound examinations for interpretation by a physician on children, adolescents, and adults. Entity / Organization Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee – Regular Schedule and Compensation Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Pay Rate Type: Hourly Pay Grade: Health-28 Job Responsibilities Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures on patients across all age groups, ensuring high‑quality imaging for physician interpretation. Minimum Training and Education 0–1 year experience in performing ultrasound diagnostic procedures. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry‑eligible required. If not certified, must obtain certification within the first year of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire and must be maintained. Either American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider is acceptable. Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing ladders/step stools, working indoors, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, using both hands/arms. Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Ability to fully use both legs. Ability to reach in all directions, lift and carry up to 50 pounds over 200 feet, lift patients up to 350 pounds assisted. Ability to lift objects from floor to a height of 72 inches, 50 pounds unassisted; lower objects to 50 pounds from 72 inches, unassisted. Ability to push/pull objects or patients up to 350 pounds unassisted. Vision: 20/40 corrected; close and distant object recognition; color discrimination; depth perception; peripheral vision. Hearing: hearing acuity with correction; can understand whispered conversation at 3 feet. Must be ambidextrous, handle stressful situations, possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), computer literacy, work overtime, and learn new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
