Quality Control TechnicianChagrin Falls, OH2nd Shift: 2:30pm - 11pm, Monday - Friday, Occasional Overtime and Weekends during the busy season (April - September)Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience + $2.00 Shift DifferentialPosition OverviewThe Quality Control Technician I conducts testing of samples to ensure product batches and finished goods meet all quality specifications. Sampling and testing of incoming raw material bulk tanker loads (primarily industrial solvent liquids). Some troubleshooting and problem solving is involved.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerforms testing of finished goods and in-process line samples to ensure they are within quality specificationsDetermine how to correct out-of-spec materials and direct production to make those adjustmentsEnsure safe and appropriate practices in labTesting requirements include but not limited to viscosities, densities, gel times, etc.Prepares & tests samples for advanced testing (i.e. peel and shear strength)Maintains daily quality log, history files, etc.Maintains the sample retain roomInterprets and applies inspection & tagging instructions, procedures and standardsSupports production for process testingGeneral housekeeping of QC Lab including cleaning and maintaining test equipmentAuthors test procedures and work instructions as neededInitiates non-conformance &Trial Material reportingSupports customer service for complaint investigationsSupports R&D development testing, as neededMonitor lab equipment calibration testing and report as neededMinimum RequirementsNeeds a high school diploma or equivalent1 year of lab experience or education in chemistry labMust be able to do basic mathWalking, pushing, pulling, stretching, and lifting 50 lbsAble to perform job with minimal supervisionGood organizational skills; able to keep recordsSome mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills are requiredExperience with shiftworkPay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.In addition to your salary, H.B.
