We want your knowledge and expertise!The Emergency Department Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination and evaluation of nursing care provided in the Emergency Department. The Manager also coordinates and supervises the activities for the unit, which supports the safe and efficient delivery of care. The Manager assists the Admin Department Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement activities, hospital policies/procedures and in the financial management of the unit.What qualifications you will need:Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start datePALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateTNCC required within 18 months of hireTexas state (RN) Registered Nurse or compact licensureBachelors Degree, or Masters Degree preferredAdvanced specialty certification (i.e. CEN) encouraged3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience and 2 years of management experience requiredStrong accountability to the unit, patients and yourself.Ability to be respectful of your team, patients, families and our organizationStrong time management abilitiesStrong communication- willing to have the difficult conversationsAbility to cultivate a strong team and get buy in from staff on the HCA way and ability to explain the why behind decisionsMust have a strong presence within the unit, requiring some mid-shift coverage occasionallyHCA experience strongly preferredCommitted to the care and improvement of human life, Medical City Healthcare aims to deliver excellence - providing the highest quality, cost-effective healthcare in the communities it serves.
